Lievo Privacy Policy
Effective date: [DATE]
This Privacy Policy describes how the Lievo iOS application ("Lievo," "the app," "we," "us") handles information. Lievo is published by Lievo LLC ("the Company"). The short version: Lievo is engineered so that your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud account. We operate no user accounts and no servers that receive your personal information, we do not sell or share personal information, and we cannot see your camera, your app usage, or your health data.
1. Important notices
Not a healthcare provider; not HIPAA-covered. Lievo is a general-wellness product. It is not a medical device, is not part of any medical practice, and does not provide healthcare services. The Company is not a "covered entity" or "business associate" under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and information handled by the app is not "protected health information" under HIPAA. Although the app was designed by a physician, your use of the app does not create a physician–patient relationship, and no information you generate in the app is reviewed by, transmitted to, or accessible to any physician or clinical practice.
Third-party platforms. The app relies on Apple technologies (iOS, Screen Time/Family Controls, HealthKit, CloudKit, App Store) and RevenueCat (subscription state). Those parties process information under their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control and for which we are not responsible.
2. Information we do NOT collect
- No account exists. Lievo has no sign-up, login, email collection, or server-side user profiles.
- We operate no servers that receive your personal data. The Company maintains no database of users or their activity.
- No advertising, no ad SDKs, no cross-app tracking.
- No sale or sharing of personal information, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or any similar law. We have collected none in the preceding 12 months.
3. Camera and movement detection
- All exercise detection is performed on your device using Apple's Vision framework. Camera frames are processed locally and are never uploaded, transmitted, or accessible to the Company.
- Body-tracking data (the joint positions used to count your reps, and to draw the optional skeleton overlay on your screen or in your workout clips) is generated and used entirely on your device, held in memory only for the duration of the session and any video export you request, and then discarded. It is never stored persistently, uploaded, or accessible to the Company.
- Workout video clips are recorded and stored only on your device. If you enable the optional skeleton effect for a clip, it is rendered on your device. A clip leaves your device only if you affirmatively share it via the iOS share sheet. Once you share a clip, its further distribution is governed by the platform you shared it to and is outside our control and responsibility. Temporary video files are automatically deleted by the app.
4. Screen Time (Family Controls)
Your blocked-app selections are stored on your device as opaque tokens generated by iOS. By Apple's design, these tokens do not disclose to the app or the Company which apps you use, your app content, or your browsing activity. The Screen Time permission enables only the display of the workout shield over apps you selected. The Company receives no Screen Time information whatsoever.
5. Health data (optional)
If you enable the optional Apple Health connection, Lievo writes completed workout summaries (exercise type, duration/reps) to your Health app. Health data: (a) is governed by Apple's HealthKit framework and protections; (b) is never transmitted to the Company; (c) is never used for advertising or marketing; and (d) is never sold or shared. You can revoke Health access at any time in the Health app. For clarity: data written to Apple Health is held by Apple on your device/iCloud under Apple's terms — it is not held by the Company and, per Section 1, is not PHI under HIPAA.
6. iCloud sync
Stats (exercise totals, streaks, milestones) may sync via CloudKit into your own private iCloud database, associated with your Apple ID. The Company cannot access, read, or retrieve your private CloudKit database; it is available only to you through your iCloud account. Without iCloud, data remains solely on your device.
7. Purchases
All payments are processed by Apple; the Company never receives your payment details. Lievo uses RevenueCat to determine subscription status. RevenueCat receives App Store receipt data and an anonymous identifier — not your name, email, or Apple ID. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
8. Notifications
Lievo uses local notifications only, generated on your device. The app has no remote push infrastructure and no server that sends messages.
9. Retention and deletion
Your data resides on your device and, if enabled, in your private iCloud database. The in-app Delete My Data control erases local stats, streaks, settings, and blocked-app configuration, and deletes your records from your private iCloud database. Workouts previously written to Apple Health remain in your Health app under your control (removable there at any time). Deleting the app removes all local app data. Apple retains purchase records under Apple's policies.
10. Children
Lievo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through some unforeseen mechanism, contact us and we will address it.
11. Your rights
Because the Company holds no personal information about you on systems it controls, rights of access, correction, portability, and deletion under the CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, and similar laws are satisfied by design and through the in-app Delete My Data control and your own device and iCloud settings. If you believe the Company holds any personal information about you, contact us and we will respond as required by applicable law. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.
12. Security
The app's architecture minimizes risk by keeping data on-device and in your private iCloud database, protected by iOS security and your Apple ID credentials. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and the Company cannot guarantee the security of systems operated by Apple or other third parties.
13. Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date will change and material updates will be reflected in the app or its App Store listing. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
